Date: November 8, 2007
Presenter: Jon Driscoll, Hawkeye Vision
The guest speaker for this meeting was Jon Driscoll, President of Hawkeye Vision. The company operates in the space where technology meets video
recognition and digital management software. They are a national leader
in developing customized software and video surveillance systems. They
started with the educational market in 1999 by helping to secure
schools. They then developed pattern recognition software to provide
indexing and retrieval of video images. The capabilities kept building
on top of the base requirements and provided the ability to engage in
multiple markets including community surveillance, law enforcement,
utilities and military applications.
There is a historical note between Mr. Driscoll and the ITCouncil.
During the early stages of the company he was referred to the ITCouncil
for a "peer review". Six members reviewed the company business plan and
discussed ideas with Mr. Driscoll. The net result was a company with
double its revenues six months later. We look forward to an update of
the successes in business and lessons learned - including the assistance
of "angel capital" that helped to build the enterprise. This will be an
exciting meeting to learn about technology and entrepreneurism on
several levels.
