The guest speaker for this meeting wasDavid Burgess, President of NEONRAMP -
www.neonramp.com. NEONRAMP is the oldest and largest independent
full-service Internet Service Provider (ISP) in the Omaha metropolitan
area. Mr. Burgess and several colleagues founded the company in 1995.
NEONRAMP has redundant direct Internet connections via long-term support
with Sprint Communications. They also have a partnership with ALLTEL
Communications for both the local area loop and Internet connections.
The last several years have been very challenging for ISPs in both the
business and technology operations. Mr. Burgess discussed the growing
security threats to the network, ever aggressive spamming exploitations,
and changing technology platforms that keep ISPs very busy managing their
network and client base. This was an insightful meeting reviewing
Internet related technologies and business policies from the ISP
perspective.
ITC also appreciates the continued support of NEONRAMP for
hosting the ITC domain name and making their expertise available to our
organization.
