The guest speaker for this meeting was Bill Moore, Editor of EV World. Bill started EV World in January, 1998 with the objective of "providing a human face to the topic of sustainable transportation." The publication has become a recognized leader in the topics of technology, policy and the people involved.

The subject of the presentation will cover advances in transportation and related technologies. Some of these topics have not yet made it to the "futurist publications."

Recent travel to Detroit took Bill to the Ford Proving Ground and Research Labs where he had the opportunity to drive fuel cell propelled Focus. No many get the chance to say they drove a million dollar car.

A previous trip to San Francisco for a conference on battery technologies covered new products that will be in our mobile phone and computers soon.

One of Bill's favorite examples of tomorrow-here-today is the Smart Car, a two-seater, sub-subcompact - only eight feet long, on the following web page. The social attitudes in the US have to change before we readily adopt the smaller fuel efficient cars.

This was a very exciting opportunity to see a view into the future of where the transportation industry will be taking us from a recognized expert and a fellow member of the ITC.
