Many companies today are taking advantage of lower costs and high quality from off shore information technology services and IT enabled services. Jim Fox and Gopi Gopalakrishnan from Information & Strategic Consulting (ISC) explored the challenges, processes and benefits for offshore computing. ISC helps answers questions about how to get started and how to ensure a success project. This presentation also covered characteristics of success projects, project organization & communication model, software engineering process, project planning & monitoring, and project metrics for offshore projects.

The ISC was the first business presenting to the ITC from the Peter Kiewit Institute on the University of Nebraska’s at Omaha campus. There has been an increasing number of foreign students coming to study in Omaha. One result of that trend is the rising interest for business alliances between Omaha and offshore companies. This trend presents Omaha businesses with global opportunities that were not readily available before.
